|George Town, 29 January 2018 – It is a challenging world and despite being armed with a degree, it can still be hard to find a good career. This is the hard truth a representative of the largest job-hunting portal in the country recently shared with KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang) students. Jobstreet.com representative Mr Edmund Teh gave a career talk on the campus in 26 January, 2018. Titled “Jumpstart your Career at Jobstreet.com”, the talk was organised by the Career and Placement Centre of KDU Penang for students from the School of Engineering and Computing.|
|“About 21,600 graduates are still looking for jobs in the country and some of them have been unemployed for many months,” said Mr Teh. He emphasized the need for a strong resume and urged students to develop soft skills beyond their academic knowledge. He also shared a number of soft skills of that employers seek such as time management, problem-solving skills, powers of persuasion and negotiation and teamwork. He gave students tips on attending job interviews and how to write a quality resume as well.|
|He encouraged students to consider the possibility of being entrepreneurs and showed students online income generating platforms such as Google Adverts and Pinterest.|
