Internship Workshop By Lifework To KDU Penang University College's Students

George Town, 29 January 2018 – The first ‘external hurdle’ students often face is getting a successful internship with an established company.

A good internship can be challenging, rewarding and enlightening, but being accepted by a good company can be difficult, so the Career and Placement Centre of KDU Penang University College (KDU Penang) recently organised another impactful workshop, “Preparing For A Successful Interview”, on 26th January 2018. This workshop was conducted by Lifework Staffing Services, Penang, a company specializing in providing employment-related services such as payrolling and training.

The main intention of this workshop was to ready students from the School of Mass Communication, Interior Design, Business and Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts for their  internship period in April and June. They were shown how to prepare a proper resume and given guidance on how to choose asuitable company.

Mr Gary Ong, the representative from LifeWork, showed students how to create an effective resume to build a good impression of themselves to potential employers. He stressed on creating a short and professional resume to grab the attention of employers. “Analyse your target. Study the company and fine tune your resume to reflect abilities that you think they will need, Mr Ong advised.

Ms Anna Lim Siew Fang, Manager of Career and Placement Centre, KDU Penang, expressed her satisfaction on the workshop. “This workshop will help students to write a good resume and show them how to choose a good company for their internships.”

KDU Penang always connects students with real industry exposure to help them hit the ground running. For more information about internships and job opportunities, contact 04-238368 or visit
