6 students from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts were selected to participate in the 2nd TPO Student Travel Exchange Project (STEP) 2013 scheduled from July 24 ~ 26, 2013 held in Tongmyong University, Busan, Korea accompanied by Mr. Darren Tan.
Objective of the programme:
- Developing member cities’ cultural tourism industry through the exchange of university students in the Asia Pacific region
- Enhancing students’ comprehensive ability on tourism through specially-designed contests
- Raising global awareness and building international tourism human network through youth exchanges
The programme itinerary was as follows:

|One group of students (Pon Jo Yi and Wong Yuen Yan)
emerged as Champions winning the 1st Place in the
Tourism Product Planning category.
|Another group of students (Min Sutton and Ng Zhi Yi)
won the Best Metropolitan Award in the Tourism Product
|Overall the trip has been pleasant, educational
and an eye opener for most students. These trips
were an exceptional experience for students who
were never given the opportunity to travel before.
Students manage to experience Hong Kong, Korea
and Bangkok in just a week.
