The School of Hospitality, Tourism & Culinary Arts led its IMI International Hotel & Tourism Management students for a visit to IMI University Centre in Lucerne, Switzerland. A total of 25 students and 2 lecturers from KDU Penang journeyed together from this educational visit.
Upon arrival at Lucerne, students and lecturers were given a warm and hospitable welcome by IMI staff. Mr. Gavin Caldwell and management staff conducted an introduction to IMI and a ‘Swissness’ Presentation was also shown, to introduce the group to the university centre and Swiss culture.
For the remaining six days, the group were then taken for a tour of the city and also departed for a full day tour to Zurich, where they visited places of interest, and were also taken on excursions to the Victorinox factory, chocolate and cheese factories as well as a brewery to observe the methods of processing and production. Students were enjoying the views, scenery, fresh alpine air, weather and atmosphere of the charming city.
