Venue: Busan City, Korea
8 students from the School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts were selected to participate in the 1st TPO Student Travel Exchange Project (STEP) 2012 scheduled from July 23 ~ 26, 2012 (three nights and four days) held in Busan, Korea accompanied by Mr Anthony Lee.
Objective of the programme:
- Developing member cities’ cultural tourism industry through the exchange of university students in the Asia Pacific region
- Enhancing students’ comprehensive ability on tourism through specially-designed contests
- Raising global awareness and building international tourism human network through youth exchanges
The programme itinerary were as follows:
One group of students (Tan Shi Kee and Song Hung-Yi) managed to obtain an Excellent award for Presentation
Overall the trip has been pleasant, educational and an eye opener for most students. These trips were an exceptional experience for students who were never given the opportunity to travel before. Students manage to experience Hong Kong, Korea and Bangkok in just a week.
