Venue: Straits Quay, Penang

SHTCA Dip-PCT students came home with three medals, two diplomas and one 4th placing for the 5th edition of the Penang Chefs Challenge. Our students competed in the 1st PCC Greenhorn Challenge, which featured individual events for practical and displayed classes in Pastry, Carving and Hot Cooking. This new challenge section was open only to apprentices from Training Institutes of Higher Learning, Schools, Colleges & Universities, and who are below 24 years old on 1st March 2012

Our team came home with one Gold, two Bronze, two Diplomas and one 4th placing. According to our students, participating in this event proved to be a valuable learning experience and gave our students the necessary exposure to compete in other competitions in the future. Participants and volunteers alike were thrilled to have had the opportunity to be involved in this event, as well as to meet many industry professionals from various hotels.
