Date: 16 – 18 February 2012
Venue: Management and Science University (MSU), Shah Alam
SHTCA Professional Chef Training student, Chuah Keat Yong, showed his skills in Shah Alam recently during the Nestle Culinary Awards, trained and supervised by Chef Darren Tan.
Held over a three-day period, this competition attracted students from various colleges/universities and vocational institutions throughout Malaysia.
In this challenge, our student was chosen as one of the finalists for his category. He was required to prepare finger food and a salmon dish during the first day, followed by duck and hot appetizer on the second day. He was faced with a ‘black box’ challenge on the third and final day. He was required to prepare a set meal consisting of soup, main course and dessert from a ‘black box’ (using mystery ingredients).
We congratulate him on his efforts and for qualifying as a finalist in this competition.
